Tepoztlán residence
Mexico
2024
Located within the mountainous landscape of Tepoztlán, this residence was conceived as an architectural sanctuary inspired by the spatial presence of ancient temples. The project explores monumentality, proportion, and silence as essential qualities of the living environment.
The architecture is defined by generous volumes and carefully controlled light, allowing the inhabitant to perceive the scale and depth of the spaces. This sense of magnitude encourages a state of awareness and connection with the surrounding landscape.
The interior environment is intentionally restrained. Minimal furniture and reduced visual elements allow the architecture itself to define the experience of the house. By removing excess and visual noise, the spaces support presence, contemplation, and meaningful connection between people, place, and environment.
Through this approach, the residence becomes a setting where architecture frames moments of stillness and clarity.
